Slight Details // Criticism

Being ever critical, need to ideally change the colors of body sections, i don't mind the variation of grays but maybe change the lower torso to match the upper, two whiter sections, possibly even the mask could go whiter. (side note) i completely forgot to add details to the back of the head and mask, i only realized once looking back at concept that the mask had cheek details to help with expression, otherwise the mask is so plain!

polish up painted maps, a few areas where edges slip over.

The mask really needs that detail

So, to 100% change

From matte to shiny (for plastic like material)
Think of a new hand and feet design
Refine textures, change colour variations
Add the missing detail to the mask.

Worked well -

Washed away child drawings + two stickers
Broken hand hanging
Bow shape
Detail pattern

Curi Textured Model Turnaround

It seems i either have lighting problems or rendering problems, generally down to lack of skill, but Curi is a lot more contrasted than intended, blues VERY blue instead of subtle and of course blacks too dark. But this gets the point across either way

Realizing now, even though i wanted to texture her to look like the drawings, i should have still made it so she was shiny instead of matte, this is something else to also go back on and change or just explore.

Curi Character Plain Turnaround

Uv Maps // Textures

The helmets Uvs were beyond messy, i tried to unfold as much as possible but where i modeled it poorly it caused a lot of issues.

Modeling Process (screenshots) // Uv's Process

Issues, i had a large amount of trouble modeling the helmet, i couldn't get a smooth enough curve that i was happy with, on top of that i ended up making a mess of it by cutting the model to make space for the eye and mouth circles, so to compensate, just in case it looked terrible or caused issues down the line i made sure i had a smoothed out face under it, if Curi ever felt the need to take the helmet off.

Hands - we need to talk about the hands.... they aren't modeled how i wanted to model them and i didn't realize until id finished everything, the hands are meant to have ball joints for moment and animation also keeping with the concept art, im not sure why i overlooked this but it's something to go back over and re model.

Feet!.... odd little feet... this time truly keeping to the concept shape and i don't feel it works, yes they could move and look slightly useful but they don't fit with the rest of the body, they are too simple.

Texturing - At first when drawing the character i planned to actually make Curi look like plastic, so verging on realistic materials, it wasnt till i got to the texturing i thought about the overall look and the environment and tried painting my textures exactly how i drew them in concepts.

Concept Company // AI Variations

The project so far lacked depth, especially for the main character i was meant to be creating (curi) to cover some basis i needed some more information, firstly background, where she had come from and what she was made for, which gave me a reason to come up with a company that apparently had made the AI ( Independent Entity Corporation )

I sketched out a few ideas for the logo also for design purpose, ended up preferring one which turned out to look like a power button.

Not only did i try to give some background to my Curi character i included a few AI variations the company could have offered, there were going to be other bodies in my scene so why not make them different.
